Marilyn Monroe; No. 27, 1980
Andy Warhol took a relatively mundane medium, and made it iconic. Silkscreening became vibrant, even electric, in the hands of Warhol. People now relate as much to these images as they do the real Marilyn Monroe.
They were printed as a limited edition of 250 by Sunday B. Morning publishing in the 80’s, and were immediately sold out when they were released. This edition is numbered in pen 108/250 on the verso. It is also stamped with the black ink studio stamp on the verso.
