This famous drawing of the Dove of Peace was first conceived by Picasso as a logo for the World Congress of Partisans for Peace in London in 1950. It later served as the logo for the 1961 Paris Peace Movement in Cannes. Picasso willingly created original designs, motifs, and logos when asked for them, if he felt either a political, artistic, or symbolic connection with the publication. Picasso contributed to scores of press-related material, adding artistic strength to their news pieces.
