Poirs et Pot Blanc Sur La Nappe Froissee (Eau de Vie series)

The Impressionist landscapists, Fauvism, and even Cubism, count among Dufy's many influences. It was not until 1920, that Dufy developed his own distinctive approach. Today, Dufy is regarded as one of the greatest 'Post-Impressionist' artists, carrying forth the tradition of painting the impression of light and color in a single moment in time. This is from a collection of works called the Eau de Vie series, and is scarce and in pristine condition. The colors were applied using a hand application stenciling process called Pochoir. Printed by Draeger Freres, Paris.
