Fruits Vermeils au Cadre Dore

DUF.jpg

Though a traditional education at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, the Impressionist landscapists, Fauvism, and even Cubism, count among Dufy's many influences, it was not until 1920, that Dufy developed his own distinctive approach. Today, Dufy is regarded as one of the greatest 'Post-Impressionist' artists, carrying forth the tradition of painting the impression of light and color in a single moment in time. This collection of works from the Eau de Vie series is scarce and in pristine condition. The colors were applied using a hand application called pochoir, and the signature was hand applied by Dufy himself. Printed by Draeger Freres, Paris.
