Offering to the Eiffel Tower

"Offering to the Eiffel Tower" was created especially for a touring exhibition of works printed by the Mourlot Studios, and were circulated by the Smithsonian Institute. The image depicts Chagall 2nd home, his beloved Paris. He once wrote; "I went there [Paris] because I was seeking her light and her liberty, her culture and the opportunity to perfect my trade. Paris illuminated my somber world like the sun itself..." The colors Chagall mixed with his color specialist, Charles Solier, beam with his feeling for Paris and express his utter devotion to the joy of life. Printed by Mourlot.
